The beginning

70 years ago, grandfather Leonidas opened a traditional family tavern in the area of Spilia, in the centre of the old town of Corfu. The tavern attracted many people every day not only because of its privileged location, next to the bus station, but also because of the quality of the food it offered. Typical specialities of the time were the roast beef casserole and giblets stew.

He then decided to buy the property in the historic Liston, built by the French in 1814 and the work of the famous architect Lesseps , who also designed similar buildings at the famous road Rue de Rivoli next to the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The Restaurant Today

Now in its third generation, the restaurant’s dishes, inspired by tradition, have been enriched with new ingredients and modern ideas. Quality plays a prominent role in both the food and the staff who outdo themselves in order to satisfy their guests in the best way possible. The particular beauty as well as the unique location of the Aegli restaurant in Liston, remaining the same for 50 years, will take you back in time.
