The grandfather of the current owner of Aegli decided to establish a traditional, family-run tavern in the area of Spilia, in the centre of Corfu, 70 years ago. This tavern was packed every day since it was located near the bus station, while all employees of the station and many residents of Corfu used to visit it in order to savour some specialties such as roast beef and leg or shin of beef stew.
Today, these dishes are being enriched with new ingredients and products, while Aegli aims at maintaining some traditional tastes combined with modern ones.
